Competition has guided my life in one form or another ever since I can remember. Training has always been something that left me with the feeling of accomplishment and always kept me interested by finding new ways to approach it. With that being said, there are few things outside of competing that leave me with the same feeling of satisfaction. Coaching might be the only other thing that can compare. I have been involved in coaching in some form or another since I was 18 years old and will continue to be involved as long as I’m able to find people in need of help. Whether it’s helping members learn to move properly or even extending some advice from a different perspective, my coaching knows no boundaries.
I was a competitive wrestler for the better part of 10 years until competitions were few and far apart. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA filled the void and I quickly found success amassing a professional record of 7-1, owning a featherweight title and being ranked second in the northeast in my weight. While competing in Jiu Jitsu and MMA I continued coaching wrestling for ages 6-20 with skill levels from beginners all the way to national champions. I am lucky to have always found myself amongst great coaches along my journey and always side by side with people equally as committed and I strive to continue to keep that feeling going amongst our members and coaches at here at CrossFit Free.
CrossFit has offered me another shot at being involved in something that is ever changing and never boring. It presents me daily with challenges unlike those that I ever experienced in my athletic career leading up to my discovery of it. Every day I am thankful for the community we have built here of amazing people that I get to interact with daily.
