I’ve been following the custom programming offered by Crossfit Free, and coach Brandon Petersen for only 6 weeks, but the progress I’ve made in such a short time is nothing short of remarkable. First, a little background information. I come from a background in wrestling and brazilian jiu-jitsu, utilizing a heavily endurance-based programming template to help push me through tough matches. After realizing a need to increase strength and power, I started following Crossfit Football. It’s a fantastic program and delivers what it promises – however, after a year and a half, I found myself hitting some plateaus and stalling on nearly all my lifts. I reached out to Crossfit Free looking for a change, and coach Petersen couldn’t have been more accommodating to my specific needs as an athlete. After a conversation around my goals, strengths and weaknesses – he put together a custom program specific to what I was looking to improve upon. Since starting the program, I’ve made significant PRs in my Snatch, Jerk, Clean, Clean and Jerk, Power Clean, Overhead Squat, Bench Press, Push Press and pull-ups. Again, this is only over the course of a 6-week timeframe. Unbelievable! I can’t say enough about the impact custom programming can have on your success as an athlete. Because I live too far away from the gym to come and train there regularly, coach Petersen even offers video analysis, tracking your progress week-to-week, day-to-day, to ensure you’re on track to meeting and surpassing your goals. He’s always tweaking the program as necessary and truly devote a lot of effort into each of his athletes. I can’t say enough about how much of an impact this has had on my training, and truly look forward to seeing what I’m capable of under Crossfit Free’s expert tutelage.
